By the time we got to Woodstock, all the chefs had gone off home. Day two of our holiday in the Cotswolds and it seems our luck is out. We visited Woodstock next to Blenheim Palace, arriving at 14:20 and every pub and restaurant stopped serving food at 2pm. Yesterday was the same, evening meal, 6.30pm, we pulled up at a really cozy looking pub swamped in signs about curry nights, sunday roasts and we asked, do you do food? “Not on Mondays” was the sweet reply. It really makes me wonder whether they really want to succeed in business or perhaps it makes economic sense only to sell food when there is a big enough demand. Grrrrr.
