Taking a walk around Cuckoo’s Hollow, a local nature reserve near our house I was fascinated by the ducks and swans forcing channels through the soft ice. I wondered how they make sense of their environment given that this icy snowy event happens less and less these days. Then to my surprise, and I swear I did not do this myself with a long stick, I discovered the remains of a cognitive edge workshop that a couple of swans had held earlier where from their sense making activities I could clearly see the emergence of the cynefin framework.
