This week we have been watching the sad, slow demolition of the iconic car park from the movie Get Carter where Michael Caine as Jack Carter threw Brumby the businessman to his death.  Described on Wikipedia as being admired for its 1960s Brutalistic architecture the space is to be redevloped in a much more eye-pleasing way involving a developer called Tesco.

Elsewhere Gateshead and Newcastle seem to be impoving the riverside area in leaps and bounds.

and the Quayside market still attracts thousands of locals and tourists to sample local foodstuffs, buy pictures of the Necastle Bridge and listen to old CD’s of famous Geordie, Jimmy Nail.

Now can someone please come and redevelop Sunderland and remove some of it’s Brutalistic architecture?
